Fennel essential oil is an exquisite botanical product produced by the steam distillation of fennel plants. Fennel was renowned as a sacred plant in ancient England. It was also highly recommended by Hildegard of Bingen, who used it as a leading herb in the treatment of stomach disorders

Fennel is a spice plant known to almost everyone. Our mothers traditionally used it in teas to give to children for flatulence. All parts of the plant are aromatic, from the tubers to the seeds. Its aroma is warm and sweet. The essential oil also has a characteristic sweetish scent.

All the green parts of the plant and the flowers have been used in the distillation. Fennel plants do well in our Fragrance Garden and have grown up to two metres high. They were hand-picked and carefully placed in our distiller. We distilled them with pure spring water from Kozjak. Fennel essential oil is slightly yellowish and there is a lot of it in the plant.
