Thyme essential oil is one of those that can be found in a variety of chemotypes. A chemotype depends on the harvest time, altitude, climate, soil composition and more. Our essential oil belongs to the widespread thymol chemotype, which makes it a powerful broad-spectrum antibacterial essential oil.

Thyme processed in our essential oil is grown in our Herb garden. You can find more about it on the Herb garden page.  In the flowering period, the plant greatly attracts bees. Essential oil is mainly concentrated in the flower part of the plant, some also in leaves. Its color is brownish; distillations usually yield some 1 – 3% of it.

Thyme essential oil is distilled with pure spring water from the Pohorje hills. It has an unmistakable strong herbal scent, and when used in blends it easily overpowers other scents.
