Want to learn more about professional distillation processes?
Interested in getting started with setting up your small or large distillery?
Wondering why distilling essential oils is not the same as distilling spirits?
Would you like to hear first-hand about international distillation practices?
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in growing and distilling herbs on a larger – professional scale in Slovenia and neighbouring countries. That is why, after four years, we will once again be hosting Marc Valussi, a world-renowned lecturer and authority in the field of herb distillation.
The purpose of the seminar is to receive or improve your expertise for self-distillation in large-scale production of herbs and other plants.
We will first look at distillation in theory and then put this knowledge into practice in a practical demonstration.
This seminar is for anyone who is thinking about entering the world of distillation or who already knows something about distillation. At the end of the seminar you will understand:
- – the steam distillation process in large and small stills,
- – how to choose the right equipment and how to equip even the most complex distilleries,
- – the importance of knowing the parameters of distillation with examples of different plants,
- – how to maintain quality throughout the distillation process,
- – common distillation mistakes and their consequences.

I am currently using a small still, mainly for experimentation and to prepare for the future. This seminar was truly amazing. It showed me so many new aspects, new information, concrete technical orientations. It is already helping me now and I think it will help me in the future, maybe even on a bigger still.

It was a wonderful seminar. I liked the fact that it was held at a professional level but there was still a lot of opportunity for open discussions. I am grateful for all the information I received from all of you!

I am glad I attended this seminar. Not only because of the beautiful environment and the peace that prevails here, but also because of the wealth of quality information that I received. I have gained insight into new starting points that can be used as a basis for further development in the field of distillation in the future. I am also glad that we have had ample opportunity for informal discussions, and I am already looking forward to the next seminars and workshops here.
